Senad Filter
« on: September 30, 2011, 02:52:43 PM »
OK guys here are some pics of the first few pre-production filter assemblies. Just bear in mind that i have not yet received the bolts that bind the filter together, they will come next week so the bolts you see sticking out of the back plate are there only to hold the compression tubes in place for the sake of inspection and photos.

I must say i am very happy with the assembly itself, it is rock solid and doesnt distort the element in any way whilst still providing even downward forces accross the whole filter element for a good seal. One thing i am not is very imaginative when i comes to names, so i called it SENAD

I have put some installation instructions together for the filters in the link below, as well as an install video.

Hope you guys like it and any feedback would very much be appreciated.

Thanks guys, there will be plenty to go around thats for sure. I reckon this system is the best filter setup period and really all credit should go to Threshold for being ingenious enough to come up with it in the first place, i have just taken some of the kinks out of the original design and feel that it is a better system for it.

I am not sure if any of the shops would be interested in carrying it, but if they are i will make them available.

Hmmm.....Senad Built.......i'll stew over that one over the weekend Craig, what do you guys think?

Just something else, there will be another piece made that will allow these filters to be used on side mounted engines, heli's, planes, on road cars etc where traditionally this filter wouldnt work. The part will be multi positional so the filter assembly could fit almost anywhere even in a Losi truck  :D

Yes mate I have noticed that to be the case, probably makes sense, as i said i am not that imaginative with names.

Not like you didn't wait 12 months for Threshold to bring some more out. If he's not interested his loss will be your Gain  8).

+ According to HBF you only need to make slight changes for it not to be a clone anyway . They don't want them then It's their loss  :P.

I agree with you Craig, but its everyones gain cause it eliminates crud getting into these engines. In my mind the filter is one of the most important parts, you can have all the bling but if the engine is sanded it aint much fun when it goes nowhere - unless your into shelf queens that is  :D
